We have three very distinct groups within The Children’s Ministry that exist here at Durham Full Gospel Church. Sunday School, Kings Kids and Youth Group.
Sunday School
Sunday School is for children 2 to 15 years of age. The adult church meeting begins at 11:00 a.m. and the children stay with their parents for the worship and prayer portion of the meeting. They then are dismissed to attend their different classes while the parents remain for the remainder of the church service.
The children are reunited with their families at the end of the meeting.
Kings Kids
Kings Kids takes place on Tuesday starting from September straight through to May from 6:30PM until 8PM. It is for children ages 5 to 12 years of age. Commences September 19th.
During the 90 minutes that we have the children with us, they are learning Bible stories, singing songs, playing games, and doing crafts. Each week is just a little bit different. They will get to meet different characters each week that will join us for a special story found from the “BOOK OF STORIES” not only teaching wonderful Bible truths but also delighting the children.
During the first half of the Kings kids season we also work on our Annual Christmas Program a play which the Kings Kids plays a large part.
Youth Group
Youth Group runs on Friday from 7:30 to 10:30 PM starting in September through to May.
Youth Group is for teens ages 12 through to 18 years of age.
Although it may seem like a very large age gap we find things seem to still run very smoothly. The older tend to be more in the ministry role to the younger. We have lots of different venues that we take the youth out for. We sometimes go rollerblading, or maybe ice-skating, or laser tagging. But our focus is to learn from the word of God.
We try and do that in as fun a platform as possible. More than anything we feel that it is important that we have a family atmosphere. A place where the youth can come and feel at home. A place where they can unload and relax and be themselves.
We try to keep it upbeat, lots of fun and lighthearted, but still get the word of God across.
